Anne Etra teaches fitness classes at both general and active older adult levels.

What defines an active older adult? It's hard to tell: ages range from 40 to 94! The important thing is that everybody is MOVING. Getting stronger. More flexible. Healthier. Feeling better. Looking Better. Having Fun!

General Classes

Hard Core Body/Cardio Sculpt
High-energy body conditioning classes may include any combination of aerobics, calisthenics, strength training, squats, lunges, plies, plyometrics, boxing, balance, butt, and killer abdominals - with serious stretch - to give you a total body workout.

ABSESSION Core Conditioning
No messing around here - abdominals are Anne's favorite muscle group - and she knows how to work them with focus and intensity. These sneaky muscles are carefully challenged, and lower back stretches complete the class.

McCIRCUIT! – Explosive 30-minute circuit training
Nine different stations combine resistance training, cardiovascular and abdominal work to challenge all your muscle groups. Jump rope, weights, plyometrics, intense abs, squat combos, and more test your strength, speed, and endurance in this innovative workout.

Active Older Adults/Seniors

Bone-Building and Balance ™
Build stronger bones in Anne Etra's signature class series.

Weight-bearing resistance training increases bone mass, and balance exercises build strength and flexibility. Core-strengthening plus stretch and meditation complete the class. Care is taken to avoid Osteoporosis-sensitive movements

Silver Sneakers: Muscular Strength and Range of Movement

A resistance training class using the chair as a base: free weights, elastic tubing and balls are used for strength training, with cardio warm-up, balance, and meditation. NOTE: Silver Sneakers™ is the official senior fitness program for Oxford Medicare Group and Empire Blue Cross members over aged 65. See www.silversneakers.com

Active Older Adult Power Workout
A challenging class for an older crowd: high energy, non-stress dance aerobics, strength training, balance and abdominal work, plus stretch or meditation.

PACE : People With Arthritis Can Exercise
A chair-based class to strengthen arthritic joints. Light weights, dyna-bands and balls used for resistance, with lower body movement, balance work and meditation.
PACE is an official course prescribed by The Arthritis Foundation. Please see www.arthritis.org for details.
