De-Stressing

Another reason to relax! From a bone point of view, stress is bad news.
Studies have shown that cortisol, the hormone released when under stress,
may suppress bone formation:

  • Stress spurts excretion of magnesium, critical to bone growth
  • High blood pressure, cholesterol levels raised by undue stress

Learn to de-stress. Try some gentle yoga, tai-chi, massage, reflexology, polarity therapy.
Gentle walking, relaxing while eating meals. How about ten minutes with the phone turned off, eyes closed, just breathing?
